WHO ARE WE ?

The Evon Price Memorial Foundation is a community based grassroots organization whose primary mission is based upon two goals: to recognize outstanding community members whose generosity, goodwill and sacrifices generally go unnoticed and to raise funds to provide colligate scholarships opportunities to support youth that are in need. 

We live in a world where people do not have super powers, fly around with capes or have super human strength. The true heroes in our society genially work behind the scenes and most of these individuals are very humble and modest folk who go above and beyond to serve others unselfishly. True heroes often lend a hand and make sacrifices to someone that’s in need when all other options are exhausted and unconditionally persevere regardless of the circumstance.  

In 2013, The Evon Price Memorial Foundation’s, “Un-Sung Heroes Awards”, was formed because a group of people were looking for a way to honor Evon Price’s legacy and find a way to put a spotlight on people like her who worked beyond the call of duty to make this world a better place. 

Unsung heroes-our teachers, coaches, medical staff, first responders, veterans and anyone else who dedicates their lives to embrace unfortunate individuals who may be going through a bad spell or may have been trapped in an emergency situation. 

WHAT DO WE DO ?

Our first goal: is to host yearly black tie-red carpet events that recognize our community stars on a “Hollywood” type platform to shed light on the great work they are accomplishing. Paying it forward, through these inspirational acts of kindness, we hope to inspire the friends of the Evon Price Memorial Foundation and others to go out in their community and do the same for their brethren.  

Our second goal: is to raise funds to support collegiate opportunities for our inner-city youth.  With the rise in the prices of college tuition, textbooks, supplies, food and housing, the price of a collegiate education quickly adds up and make it unaffordable and inaccessible for a low income inner-city youth to attain a colligate education.
